Powder Coating Facility for Various Materials

As a powder coating facility in Estaimpuis, we at A.T.I. are also specialized in powder coating or powder painting. Powder coating is applied in its broadest form to various metals ranging from thin sheet and profile material to heavy structural steel.

Protection Against the Weather

In combination with a thermally galvanized substrate or steel provided with a KTL coating, powder coating offers very durable protection against corrosion and excellent resistance to extreme weather conditions. It is an electrostatic painting process in which negatively charged powder is sprayed onto a positively charged workpiece with compressed air. This temporarily sticks the powder, which is then melted or baked in an oven.

Electrostatic Spraying

This technique is usually applied via electrostatic spraying. The object is first electrically grounded, and the powder paint is sprayed onto the object via an air mixture, where it is electrostatically charged. These powder paint particles are now attracted to the grounded object and settle on it. The object with powder coating then goes into an oven set at 140°C to 220°C. The advantage of powder coating is that no solvents are released during this painting process. Also, paint that initially does not adhere to the product can be reused because the excess powder can be sprayed onto a product again.
